Erotic romance author Joey has traveled to Hawaii to get over a case of writer’s block. Being unable to write sex scenes is really putting a hold on her ability to sell. Gray Hawk is very attracted to the woman renting the house next to his. When he finds that she is in Hawaii to do research, he offers to help. He would like nothing more than to help Joey with her work – creating erotic sex scenes for her books. The more time he spends with Joey, the more he realizes that their relationship means more than sex to him. Joey is a woman that he could spend his life with. Having been hurt by a cheating spouse, Gray wants to be sure before he commits his heart again.

By The Book is an amazing story that I was unable to put down. Ms. Wilde has created two unforgettable characters, Joey and Gray, who will touch your heart. The instant physical chemistry is balanced by each’s desire to connect on an emotional level. Joey and Gray have been hurt in the past and are reluctant to risk their hearts again. The character and plot development kept me so engrossed that I was surprised to have read the whole thing in one sitting. I enjoyed that both characters are strong individuals but realize that when something is right you just have to take a chance. I will definitely be reading more of Ms. Wilde’s books.
